The expectations hoisted on being the perfect child in an Indian family are wonderfully told in this film. Rishi, as the naughty granddad, is cute for most parts, but turns stoic towards the climax. Kapoor & Sons Review by Manjusha Radhakrishnan on GulfnewsĪlia Bhatt, who plays the winsome Tia, is instantly likeable. The humor is very well weaved in the film. This duo should be applauded for the way they have sketched every single character and their respective quirks. A very proud and a well deserving pat on the back to the film’s writer Ayesha Dhillon and also Shakun Batra for ‘gifting’ a film that the audiences will never forget. One has to give it to Shakun for being successful in dodging the ‘suspense’ till the end. While the film’s first half sets the tempo and the mood, it’s the second half that acts as a huge ‘revelation’ in the true sense of the word. His direction is such that it feels like the camera is just following the characters while they go about with their lives. Barring a few scenes (in the second half), Shakun delivers one of the finest products in the form of KAPOOR & SONS, a new-age film that can easily be termed as one of the finest films of the year. He delivers a film that doesn’t look like fictional movie, but a true life tale of every family. With KAPOOR & SONS, Shakun Batra has taken a gigantic leap as a director. KAPOOR & SONS happens to be director Shakun Batra’s second film as a director, (the first film being EK MAIN AUR EKK TU). Kapoor & Sons Review by Bollywood Hungama It will work as a welcome break from the high voltage T20 World Cup action. If you have been looking forward to a good film, watch Kapoor & Sons.
The casting plays a huge part in making the movie work. Kapoor & Sons ends up becoming the most atypical and yet a quintessential Dharma Productions movie. There are funny moments, relatable moments, moments of anger and sadness. Kapoor & Sons is a bittersweet quirky film which entertains from the first frame to last and takes the viewer of a familial tour-de-force. Average Rating of All 'Kapoor & Sons' Review - 3.7 stars Only Neerja has received better reviews this year. The reviews are as good as Akshay Kumar’s Airlift which also received average critic rating of 3.7 stars. Loose editing (the dragging recap of part 1) & the camera work could’ve been easily avoided.Kapoor & Sons is currently the second most critically acclaimed film of 2016. Rakht Charitra 2 gets 3.8 out of 5 stars. Obviously the film was made in Hindi and the makers were cashing in on the Tamil and Telugu versions due to the star powers and the AP politics. I’m told the Tamil Version (as Rattha Charitram) is a dubbing film with Suriya/Priyamani scenes being reshot for the tamil audiences. Even the ACP (Sudeep) had a greater part in this installment than part 1.Īvoid the Tamil version at all cost. Unlike other films say Anjaana Anjaani or Robot, you actually get a story & top notch acting from the likes of Vivek Oberoi, Suriya, Kota Srinivas, Priyamani, etc. In fact his Hindi diction (debut film of Surya) is very good for a film based on the blood battles in Andhra Pradesh. Yes it could be termed as a slow paced masala but unlike Tamil films, there’s a reason behind Surya’s meticulous planning to assassinate Pratap Ravi.
RGV has made Part 2 a huge STEP ABOVE part 1 as it gives a grand background of Surya Reddy’s past (his perspective of the family massacred in Part 1 via Pratap Ravi & honoring to save his family’s prestige is very interesting.) I don’t want to spoil anything on part 2, but if you haven’t see it or if you’re not a big Ram Gopal Varma fan, please do SEE IT. Pratap & his crew head out while Suryanarayan Reddy (Suriya) lurks to surprise.
*Bukka now slayed, Pratap and Shivaji Rao form a political alliance.
Soon, Shivaji Rao (Shatru Sinha) comes to know of this while campaigning in Anantpur and takes full support of Pratap to kill Bukka. *Nagmani orders his son Bukka (Abhimanyu Singh) to eliminate Pratap while suffering a blow from the latter. *After Nagmani brainwashes one of Veerbhadra’s men (Ashish Vidyarthi) to kill Veerbhadra & his eldest son, bhadra’s son Pratap Ravi (Vivek Oberoi) goes on a violent spree against all of Nagmani’s henchmen. *Narsimha Reddy (Tamil actor Kitty) gives political rights to Veerbhadra (Rajendra Gupta) while Reddy’s right hand man, Nagmani Reddy (Kota Srinivasa Rao) brainwashes Narsimha about the trust broken between him and Veerbhadra. Previously in Part I…(cliff notes version)
